All email programs look for the same basic pieces of information, in order to allow you to access your email account. Those settings are as follows...
- Email Address = (provided in your Welcome Message)
- Password = (provided in your Welcome Message)
- Incoming (POP) Mail Server = pop.ispbooster.com
- Outgoing (SMTP) Mail Server = smtp.ispbooster.com
- Account Name (or Username or Login) = (exactly the same as your Email Address)
IMPORTANT: By far, the most common mistake people make in setting up their email accounts is forgetting to include "@ispbooter.com" at the end of the Account Name.
In addition to the above settings, our servers require SMTP Authentication, in order to allow you to send e-mail. We have a separate page on configuring SMTP Authentication here.
OUTLOOK EXPRESS SETUP
Outlook Express is included with all recent versions of Windows. It should already be installed on your computer. To set up your email account in Outlook Express, please follow the instructions below. Of course, you may use a different email program if you like. Also, you can send and receive email from our web site by logging into your email account at the top, left corner of the page.
Open Outlook Express by double-clicking the icon on your Windows desktop screen that looks like the one to the left. If you don't see the icon, click the Start button at the bottom, left corner of your screen, go up to Programs, then click Outlook Express.
STEP 1: If the first thing you see is the Internet Connection Wizard (see Step 4), then skip to Step 4. Otherwise, if any message boxes pop up, close them and proceed to Step 2.
STEP 2: At the top of the Outlook Express screen, click Tools, then click Accounts.
STEP 3: Click the Mail tab, then the Add button, then click Mail.
STEP 4: In the Display name box, enter your name as you want it to appear to the recipient. This is not your email address, but your name or nickname, which people will see when you send email messages. Click the Next button at the bottom.
STEP 5: Enter your Email Address,
as listed in your Welcome Message. In some versions of Outlook Express, you will need to select, "I already have an email address..." before you can enter the email address. Click Next.
STEP 6: Enter the mail server information. The first entry should be POP3, as displayed below. The Incoming Mail Server is pop.ispbooster.com. The Outgoing Mail Server is smtp.ispbooster.com. Click Next.
STEP 7: Make sure Logon using: is selected and enter your Email Account Name and your Password. Your Email Account Name is exactly the same as your email address - you must include @ispbooster.com at the end of the Account Name. In some versions of Outlook Express, you can select "Remember password". You might also have the option to "Log on using secure password...", but do NOT select that option. Click Next.
Note: your password will show asterisks (*). Be sure to enter your password correctly.
In recent versions of Outlook Express, this part of the setup is now complete. Click the Finish button, then click here to complete the email account setup by configuring Outlook Express for SMTP authentication. In older versions, you will need to proceed with the steps below...
STEP 8: Enter a "mail account name". This can be anything you want. If you are setting up multiple email accounts you will want to give each account a unique name. Click Next.
STEP 9: Select Connect using my phone line. Click Next.
STEP 10: Select Use an existing dial up networking connection and make sure the connection name is "Access the Net" (or another name you gave to our connection). Click Next.
STEP 11: Click Finish to save your settings.
You are now ready to receive email using Outlook Express. In order to complete the email account setup, click here to configure Outlook Express for sending mail using SMTP authentication.
